🚩 Local Area Attractions / Amenities: The campground was very well maintained and conveniently located about 20-minutes just outside of Philadelphia. Although we didn’t spend much time exploring New Jersey, we could have easily spent another week in the area. Along the waterfront just before crossing the Ben Franklin bridge from NJ to PA, there is an aquarium, the USS New Jersey and several greenspaces. In addition, near the campground you can find several local farms and markets. As always, our ASTC Passport Program and Military Lifetime Pass for National Parks were very useful. We were able to visit the Franklin Institute and had several other options as well.

✏️ Additional Notes / Review: I’ve spent time in Philadelphia on business, but never for pleasure. This was a great stop on our trek north. Having the opportunity to visit Independence Hall, see the Liberty Bell, walk through Betsy Ross’s house and explore so many other historical spots throughout Philadelphia is something we’ll remember and cherish. The girls loved learning about Betsy Ross and her role in history. Did you know there she sewed (26) stars on the first flag? (13) on the front, and (13) on the back… Learned that bit of trivia from Betsy herself. We could absolutely see ourselves coming back to Philly South / Clarksboro KOA to explore more of the area in the future.
