๐ฉ Local Area Attractions / Amenities: We decided to stay at Ft. Meade because it is centrally located between D.C. and Baltimore. There is so much to do in this area. We even spent a day at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. From visiting Mt. Vernon, to touring various Museums and the National Aquarium, we truly enjoyed this stay. We are members of the ASTC Passport Program, so it was a bonus that the area had so many venues we could access.
โ๏ธ Additional Notes / Review: Christy and I never lived on base when I was active duty, and the girls were too young to remember. This was their first experience of being on a military base for an extended period and all the things that accompany it. We really enjoyed this stay and will look to stay again if in the area. I donโt believe they mow more than once a month, and if we stayed much longer, I probably would have picked up a small trimmer. It wasnโt unreasonable, but the girls complained when playing.
The location of Camp Meade canโt be better if youโre wanting to explore the Nationโs Capital and Baltimore. The Odenton Train Station is just down the road that will take you to Penn Station in Baltimore or to Union Station in D.C. We stayed at Camp Meade RV Park for almost 2 weeks but could have easily stayed for a month.
